I enjoyed all these empties with the exception of the Nivea Cocoa Butter Body Cream. I was excited to try this. It's inexpensive and I've tried other lotions from Nivea that I've liked. The consistency is nice and smooth but it was not moisturizing at all. To use it up, I layered Vaseline's Cocoa Radiant Body Gel Oil after I applied the body cream. I say skip this and pick up their Essentially Enriched Body Lotion.

Next up will be my favorites of September and October!

July/August 2018 Out of My Face

Hey hey hey. Hi hi hiiiiiiii!

I know things have been lackluster around here with just empties and favorites *shrugs*.  It may change then it may not. I'm still struggling with my beauty self. Yes I'm still buying and trying stuff but I'm also trying to identify go to products and such. And I'm also trying to scale back and get rid of stuff/use what I have. So basically I'm still all over the place lol!

I think the only newbie to the list is the Bliss Naked Body Butter. I picked it up from Ulta. It was decent. I don't need any more body moisturizers right now. Even if I did I wouldn't rush out to repurchase it. It pained me to use up the Drunk Elephant Beste Jelly Cleaner. I had it in the old packaging but it so good! I don't need any more facial cleansers right now but I am definitely repurchasing during the November Sephora sale!

Not a lot used up this round but it'll do! Next up will be my August favorites! Someone please tell me where did summer go!?!?!?

The Palmer's Coconut Oil Hand Cream is a newcomer to the list. I really liked the scent. Some coconut scents can smell fake or sickeningly sweet. The was nice and light. The hand cream itself was just ok. It wasn't moisturizing enough for my liking. I don't plan on repurchasing it

Does anyone have any dark brown liquid liner recommendations? I have one more Kat Von D one to use up and after that I'm not purchasing it or any other items from her brand due to some recent comments she made.

I think I've mentioned most of the items listed before. A newbie to the list is the Votary Super Seed Cleansing Oil. This is a pricey cleansing oil. A friend passed it on to me to try which was really nice because again this joker is pricey! It's around $60 or maybe even a little more. I found it on Anthropologie's website but it's no longer available. It did not feel like your typical cleansing oil. It's was a lot thicker and harder to rinse off. For the most part it did remove my makeup. I liked using it more so mixing with an exfoliating powder I have and using it on bare skin. You can use it like a regular cleanser. It was nice to try but I don't plan on purchasing a bottle.

There are a couple of other items that I could talk about but you will see them in my next favorites post. So I'll gush about them there.

The iS Clinical Copper Firming Mist is a new product to me.This was given to me by a friend to try. At first I didn't think it was doing anything. The more I used it, the more I enjoyed. Not sure if it helped with firming but it did help control the oil on my face and foundation application. I mainly used it in the morning after toner. It's funny I thought that the spray was clogged because nothing was coming out. Then I was like uhhh hello you finished it LOL!!! I haven't decided yet if I will purchase a bottle.

Two other newbies to the list but not to me are the KeraCare Hydrating Detangling Shampoo and Humecto Creme Conditioner. This shampoo and conditioner I used years ago. I loved them and then got side tracked by other products. The woes of a product junkie. I decided to use them again when my hairdresser told me of a sale that JcPenney was having and I fell in love with these two products all over again. I haven't repurchased them yet but I will. I can tell a difference in my hair since I ran out. These two products helped keep my hair soft, hydrated and manageable.

The Bare Minerals Mineralixirs Facial Cleansing Oil is another new product to the list. It's a typical cleansing oil and I did like it. A friend gave this to me. I'm not sure if they still make it. It got all my makeup off and it rinsed well. Some cleansing oils I feel like you have to rinse FOREVER to get off. I didn't have to do that with this one.

And lastly let's talk about the COSRX AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner. When I first started using this I wasn't wowed by it and didn't think much of it. This is another product I grew to enjoy the more  I used. I was going to mention it in a top 5 post but kept forgetting. Here's the product description:

"COSRX AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner is an exfoliating fluid that effectively eliminates flakes and dull skin cells while preventing blackheads and whiteheads from forming. Infused with natural acne-fighting acids, AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner controls excess oil and sebum while nourishing and hydrating depleted skin with essential vitamins.

It does just that! This is an excellent toner and I feel it was a game changer for my oily acne prone skin. I also love how it makes my skin feel soft and supple too. Even though I have oily skin, it can become dehydrated so the right products are key for my skin. It's available at Ulta but you can find it cheaper on Amazon. I have some other toners to get through but I am definitely going to repurchase this toner.

I think the only new to the list to take about is the Skincare Cosmetics Retinol Anti-Aging Hand Cream. I ordered this from Sally Beauty. I'm always on the hunt for a good hand cream and it has Retinol in it. You know I'm all about Retinol these days. Sad to say I wasn't wowed by this. It wasn't moisturizing enough for me. I would add a couple drops of the Botanics Nourishing Face Oil to it. I saw them mention adding a few drops of their oil to your hand cream Instagram. It helped me use it up. I won't be repurchasing this one.

I know hair oils are all the rage but I'm kinda old school when it come to moisturizing my scalp. A blogger I follow did a Dry Flaky Scalp Solutions: Hair Grease post and I picked up a couple of her recommendations. I picked up Nene's Gorgeous Grow and Profectiv Mega Growth Growth Revitalizer Hair & Scalp Moisturizer. Of the two, Nene's Go Go Gorgeous was the stand out product. I've already ordered two more jars. My scalp can get very dry and itchy. This helps soothe my scalp, there's no buildup and it doesn't weigh my hair down. 

I picked the Majestic Oil Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner after trying the hair oil. I got the smaller sizes to try. I got 3 washes out of the shampoos and 4 uses of of the conditioner. I really enjoyed these two products. The shampoo got my hair clean and I was still able to finger comb my hair. The conditioner was really nice. It made my hair soft and moisturized. I was tempted to run out and get the full sized bottles but I don't need them right now. I have other items to use. Even though I enjoyed these two products, I'm not sure I will repurchase them any time soon. Trying to use what I have and I may go back to using Wen.

The Serous Skincare Reverse Lift Firming Facial Serum with Argifirm is a newbie item. I was going to mention it in my favorites for February. Then I was going to do a separate post on it but then I felt like I needed to use it some more. I got this in one the Serious Skincare Halloween surprise boxes I picked up from HSN. I was like ummm I don't have wrinkles and my face doesn't need any lifting. I went on HSN to check out the reviews and what surprised me was that several reviews mentioned that this serum helped with pores, smoothing out the skin, easier makeup application and brightness. I then said SOLD! So I gave it a go and I really like this. It definitely makes my skin smoother and my makeup more seamless. I've used it twice a day and then I switched to just using it in the morning. I have a 2oz size that I got in a set of serums. So I'm glad I have another bottle handy. After I used the 2oz bottle up, I'll decide if this is a keeper in my routine.

Another newbie to the list are the Dickson's Cleansing Cloths. These were on my list to try since I like their witch hazel toner. I scooped these up from Walgreens. There are pricey. I think they were either $6.99 or $7.99. I had a $1 off coupon. First use I used them on my eyes like a dummy! Then I was like they have witch hazel in them fool! So needless to say it burned my eyes *head palm*. So one "downside" is that you can't use these to remove your eye makeup. It removed my face makeup fine. Then I used these on no makeup days when I need to clean my face but didn't feel like using a face wash. They are nice but I more than likely will not repurchase them since I use cloths like these to mainly remove all my makeup.

The Skinfix Hand Repair Cream is another newcomer. After trying and loving their Rich Hand Cream, I wanted to give this a try. QVC has a deal on a set of 3. I really like it but I feel like I go through it quicker than the Rich Hand Cream. I've already ordered another set from QVC. Once is going in my travel bag.

I came across the Beaute Essentielle Antioxidant Facial Wipes in Pomegranate Acai at TJ Maxx. They were $3.99 for 60 wipes. At first I thought they were just ok. The more I used them, the more I grew to like them. They are a nice size to remove makeup. They're not harsh feeling and nicely saturated. I also picked up another version that's next on my list to use. There were a TON of different facial wipes at the one TJ Maxx store I went to and the prices were very good compared to the drugstore, Ulta, etc. If you need to stock up on some wipes, I say check TJ Maxx or Marshalls. I think the philosophy Take a Deep Breath Moisturizer is a good one for the daytime. It didn't interfere with my makeup and it didn't make my skin extra oily. I would definitely repurchase it. I've purchased "fancy" balms, butters and what not but when I went back to using Vaseline Cocoa Butter on my feet, back and other places that needed a little extra attention, I said to myself yep I'm sticking with this. It gets the job done and you can't beat the price. Not too shabby these last two months in trying to use stuff up. I lost my mind in February and picked up a bunch of stuff here and there. So yea I have MORE stuff to try and use up. Oy vey lol!

I've been toying around with posting empties in a separate post. Some stuff I use up I don't necessarily talk about in other posts. Also  my feelings may change about a product as I use it that may have been a past favorite and such. So there you go. There may not be a post every month. Depends on how much I use up in a month. Some of this stuff takes forever to use up!

Everything on this list I have mentioned before in past posts and they'll stay in my rotation. There are two newcomers on the list. The first newcomer is the Skinfix Ultra Rich Hand Cream. I got a small bottle of their Daily Lotion in one of the Allure Beauty Boxes. I left it on my desk at work and used it on my hands. I really liked it and was curious if they had a hand cream. I hopped on to Ulta's site and sure enough they had one. It's only $9.99, so I said what the hey. This is a really good hand cream! I've already purchased two more tubes. It has a nice thick consistency but it's not too thick. I doesn't have a scent that lingers or tickles my nose. It feels so good and makes my hands super soft and moisturized but not greasy. If your'e looking for a hand cream then check this one out. Now I'm curious about other products in the line. The second newcomer is the Serious Skincare Vitamin C Ester Pads. I think I got these in a larger Vitamin C kit from HSN. I've used them here and there but not on a consistent basis. I've been wanting to incorporate Vitamin C into my routine since it's a powerhouse skincare ingredient. I really enjoyed using these pads. They are a nice size, nicely saturated and do not leave a sticky film on my skin. I definitely noticed my skin looking brighter, smoother and I felt like I had less breakouts. I have already ordered more.
